Starting free: the Free plan and your 14-day trial
Full parametric CAD is free forever for public Things. Every new account also starts with 14 days of every feature, 100 AI credits and a free generated 3D body, no card required.
Solid Vibes has a Free plan with no end date: full parametric CAD (every Maker feature, STEP export included), with your Things public and limited AI. On top of that, every new account starts with a free trial of everything Solid Vibes can do. When it ends you keep designing on Free, or you pick a plan for AI credits and private Things.
During the private beta new accounts are by invitation. See The private beta and the waitlist.

The idea is simple: try everything on a real project before you decide.
Your first generated 3D body is free
A generated body is a detailed, printable 3D model of a figure, character or creature, made from a concept sheet, photos or a short description. It normally costs 150 credits, more than the trial's 100, so during the trial your first one is on us: it doesn't use any credits.
- Try it with ⌘K → Generate a 3D model… (the card says First one free during your trial), or ask the agent to build a figurine or creature from a picture.
- The agent says "Your first generated body is on us during the trial." when it uses it, and the credits meter in the top bar mentions it until then.
- It only counts when a body is actually delivered. If the generation fails, you keep your free one.
- From a description, the picture drawn first is a normal concept image (5 credits in Fast, 8 in Smart). The build around the body, such as adding a flat base, is charged as usual.
- It's one per account. After that, a generated body costs its normal 150 credits. With fewer credits than that, the agent shapes organic forms with its sculpt tools instead and tells you why.
See Turning a concept into a detailed 3D body.
Starting the trial
Sign up with Google, Apple, GitHub, an email link, or an email and password. The trial begins right away, with no payment details. Sign-up and sign-in emails come from [email protected] (opens in a new tab); check your spam folder if you don't see one. After signing up you are offered a passkey for faster sign-in next time, and a 60-second onboarding asks what brings you here and which printer or process you use, so your first project starts configured. If your browser can install Solid Vibes as an app, one optional extra step offers it (more room for your model, and it opens in its own window); you can skip it. See Full screen and installing Solid Vibes as an app. Skip for now is always safe: it only marks the welcome as done, and if you open the welcome page again later and skip, nothing you saved is changed.
Following your usage
A credit meter and a days-left indicator sit in the top bar. They never block you mid-task.
Making 100 credits go far
Costs depend on the action and the mode. A rough guide with today's defaults in Fast mode:
| One small project | Credits |
|---|---|
| A round of 4 concept images | 20 |
| A multi-step build from a prompt | about 6 |
| Ten simple edits | 10 |
| A photo or drawing to model | 10 |
| Total | about 46 |
That is about two small projects. To stretch your credits:
- Draft in Fast, and use Smart only for hard requests.
- Ask questions freely. Routing is free.
- Use sliders and manual tools for small tweaks. They never use credits.
- Combine related edits into one clear request.
Credits, explained has the full table.
When the trial ends
You move to the Free plan: every Maker feature except AI, with no card and no end date. On Free:
- every Thing is public,
- there are no new AI credits, but any trial credits you didn't use stay usable until they run out,
- otherwise it has every Maker feature (STEP export included); Pro features still need Pro.
If you made private Things during the trial, nothing changes until you choose: subscribe to keep them private, or confirm that they become public. See What happens when your trial ends.
Common questions
Does the free generated body carry over to Free? No. It's part of the trial: use it before the trial ends.
Do unused trial credits carry over? On Free, yes: you can spend them until they run out. When you subscribe, your plan's monthly credits replace the trial balance.
Will I be charged automatically? No. No card is collected for the trial, so there is nothing to charge.
Can I subscribe before the trial ends? Yes, any time from Billing & plan. Yearly billing is the default and costs less than paying monthly.
Try it
Open Home, choose a template, and ask:
I want to make a stand for my tablet. Ask me three quick questions about its size, its weight and how I will use it, then build a first version.
Then check your credit meter to see what it cost.
